Brooke Air has launched two new CIBSE-accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminars designed to help building services professionals deepen their understanding of air distribution, indoor comfort and system performance.
Developed and delivered by Brooke Air’s in-house engineers, the sessions share expert insight gained from decades of designing and manufacturing bespoke air terminal devices for some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile projects.
Each CPD is fully accredited by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and contributes toward formal professional development hours.
Internal Air Quality: Enhancing Comfort in Living and Working Spaces
This CPD explores how air terminal device layout and selection influence indoor air quality and occupant comfort.
Attendees learn how good system design—aligned with HVCA, CIBSE, HSE and Building Regulations—ensures effective ventilation, balanced airflow and healthy environments across commercial and residential spaces.
Through practical examples, the seminar covers system components, ductwork principles, airflow balancing, and how grille and diffuser selection affects both comfort and energy performance.
Induction Ratios of Grilles and Diffusers
Focusing on air induction and mixing performance, this CPD examines how airflow behaviour impacts comfort, acoustics and energy efficiency.
Participants gain a clear understanding of induction ratios (IR), the Coandă effect and how to interpret performance data when selecting air terminal devices.
The presentation also helps attendees critically evaluate product claims, distinguishing between marketing terminology and scientifically validated performance measures such as the Air Diffusion Performance Index (ADPI).
